RE: Favorable Customer Service

My Roadmaster Even-Brake failed this spring. I called and after just a few minutes they determined my brake was no longer working properly. They sent me a new one with no hassle and paid the shipping to send the defective unit back. Thank you Roadmaster. Terry

RE: Sirius & XM Radio Updates

The line up was a bit confusing this morning, but this afternoon I finally have the Margaritaville Channel. It works for me! Terry

RE: Is Fill-R-Up for Storage Really Important

I like to keep it full with Sta-bil added. If we happen to lose power due to a winter storm, I know I have 80 gallons of fuel (60 available) to keep the generator powered up. Terry

RE: Electric blankets OK for RVs--Sunbeam says NO

I wouldn't think it would be a problem when plugged in but it may be a problem on the generator. The mattress pads we use in the house won't work when the power is out and I'm running on generator power. While the heater is simple resistance, the controls can be fussy about how clean the waveform is. Terry

RE: 2000 Workhorse front wheel bearings

I'm with Alfred. If it's the squeak at low speed that concerns you, pull off the wheel covers and take a little ride. That was the source of my squeak. Try the simple things first then go from there. Good Luck, Terry

RE: what do your kids enjoy most about camping?

I did most of my camping with my sons at scouting events. The favorite activities of the boys always included sharpening sticks with a knife and poking them in the fire. Terry

RE: Improvements

This seems to be a popular misconception. A properly wired 50A service provides 220V. Terry

RE: Is it legal to leave the drawbar/ball in when not towing?

If it's a nice snug fit, you may want to remove it periodically so it doesn't rust in place. I sold a van to a friend and he left the ball mount in place for a year before he got tired of banging his shins. We tried for an hour to remove it. We tried penetrating oil, sledge hammer, heat, and fastening a chain to a fork truck. Ended up giving the receiver to another guy who took a torch to the bolts and removed the receiver. I think he finally got the ball mount out with a hydraulic press. Gotta love Michigan road salt. Terry

RE: Camping lights/Decor!!!!!!

Thanks, Bumpy. That makes sense. Not many up here but I like the idea of no pine sap on the carpet! :) Terry

RE: Camping lights/Decor!!!!!!

I like to keep it tasteful...like tiki gods, pink flamingos, and palm tree lights. I also have an illuminated palm tree but haven't taken it out yet. I picked it up at Lowes after Christmas when all the lights went on sale. I'm not quite sure why they sell the palm trees with the Christmas lights but that's what they do. For a little variety, try this place. They seem to have lights for every occasion. Offthedeepend I used to use the clips that fit into to the awning rail but I found some small clips I like better. It's a metal clip attached to a vinyl strap that snaps onto itself. They are made to clip ID badges onto clothing but work great for lights. If a storm comes up, you can quickly remove them from the edge of the awning to roll it up. It also works great if you stretch a rope between trees and clip the lights to the rope....keeps the strain off the thin wires. Terry

RE: What is this car/truck part?

Make sure your turn signals are still working. Looks like a reservoir for blinker fluid. Terry

RE: My DH won't turn over the wheel

I'm the same way. Doesn't matter if it's my jeep, her van, or the MH. If she is driving, better stay back. It means I've done something stupid and she is taking me to the ER. Actually, I wish I could get her try to drive the MH, just in case she HAS to. Terry

RE: Where to purchase Fuel for Weber 220?

I took off the ring and replaced it with a larger one shaped to fit the larger cylinder. It works fine and cylinders are easier to locate. Terry

RE: Summer almost over =(

We just dropped our youngest off at MSU and got her set up in the dorm. In previous years, there were always so many high school activities ,especially marching band, that it was tough to get away on a Friday night. We didn't do as much camping this summer as I would have liked, but this fall we will try to get in 2-3 more weekend trips. We want to take at least one trip to enjoy the fall colors in northern Michigan. We also want to take in one of the fall festival / Halloween weekends at one of many Michigan State Parks. Shannone, if you haven't done one of the Halloween weekends, you really need to take the family and go. The kids will love it. We have a lot more fun decorating the RV than the house. We also give out more candy. Terry

RE: How much water carried when traveling

I like and trust my water so I bring close to a full tank. The weight doesn't make much difference and I don't like to be suprised with foul tasting water at the CG. Terry

RE: grease chassis?????

I go 3000 miles or at least every spring. It doesn't take that long to do and it's cheap insurance. Terry

RE: Tongue Jack Hole Sizes

I have opened up the bottom hole using a hole saw. Works great but you must have something solid for the hole saw to pilot into. I found a small scrap of steel to bridge the hole and clamped it in place on the inside. Measure to find the center on the bridge, mark and center drill the bridge. Then use the proper size hole saw to open it up. Go with an electric jack. It's the best mod you can add to a TT. Terry

RE: CIRCUIT BREAKER from 7 way TV to Converter.

Lotust,I think you confused some of the people by showing the example with the rating visible. I would think 30A is pretty standard. What size wire are you feeding with it. The breaker should be sized to protect the wire so it will depend on the smallest wire gage included in the run. Terry

RE: Entry Door will not unlock

Is it the deadblot or latch/lock that won't move? Any possibility that the MH frame is slightly torqued by the levelers? It could cause binding between the door and frame making it difficult to move the deadbolt. Terry

RE: How Often Should Brake Buddy Operate?

I use the Roadmaster Even Brake and have the same experience. During easy to normal braking, it won't activate. During faster stops it kicks in predictably. I can feel it working without jerking. Just the way I like it.
